Teaching Course 1: How to include multidisciplinary treatment when organizing the Headache Clinic

The nurse as the link and partner in treatment of the headache patient


Bethany Hill is a headache specialist nurse at the Headache Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, a tertiary referral centre for patients with complex headache and facial pain disorders. Beth works in a pioneering interdisciplinary Headache Centre and organises and participates in a number of nurse-led and MDT clinics, including the fast-track cluster headache clinic and complex facial pain MDT clinic. She actively participates in patient and practitioner’s education and training, clinical headache research and trials. Beth specialises in Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox) injections for chronic migraine and greater occipital nerve blocks for primary headache disorders and neuralgias. She has also developed and currently leads the largest single pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation (sTMS) clinic in the UK for migraine sufferers.
